AMIS (pronounced ah-mee’) is a French word that means “friends” and symbolizes our mission of friendship and hospitality. We connect international students and scholars at colleges and universities with local families and individuals who want to serve and socialize across cultures.

We want to make international students’ time in the United States a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience. With the support of churches, civic and service organizations, and corporations, we connect students with families and individuals in the Greater Atlanta area in a number of different ways, providing students with opportunities for meaningful and personal relationships.

Since 1978, we have built friendship and hospitality bridges with more than 50,000 students. Many of these relationships still exist today.

We invite you to get involved in this “grass roots” effort to promote world peace through one-on-one relationships.
