Volunteer Spotlight: Galleria/Northwest Kiwanis Club

The Galleria/Northwest Kiwanis Club has been making friends with international students since the early 1980’s. Many of its members have been regular volunteers at the annual AMIS/Kiwanis International Student and Scholar Welcome Reception, and many have become amigo friends to international students as well. One member said, “It is good for us and good for the students to become friends and get to know each other. We get to see the best of the students’ countries, and the students get to see the best of ours. The Welcome Reception is a great way to let the international students and scholars know we are glad they chose to study here, and to hear about their countries.”

If you would like to visit the Galleria/Northwest Kiwanis club or learn more about them, you can reach them at 770-956-2905 or sue(AT)crownofficesuites.com.  They meet Wednesdays at noon at the Crown Office Suites on Windy Hill Rd near I-75 and welcome visitors and new members.

The 40th Annual AMIS/Kiwanis International Student and Scholar Welcome Reception will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Georgia Tech’s Student Services Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public, and all are invited. Details will be provided in the summer.
