Christmas International House

Please host one or more students in your home for week one (December 18-26) or week two (December 26-January 2).

Christmas is a time for sharing and Christmas International House (CIH) provides an opportunity to do just that. Each Christmas Holiday, we host international students from colleges and universities across the United States come to Atlanta to participate in the CIH program.

Families and individuals are encouraged to share their homes with an international student for a one or two-week period. Your responsibility is to provide the student with a bed, breakfast, take them to the CIH center at St. James United Methodist Church each morning, pick them up each evening and share weekends and holidays with them. Activities are provided for the student on most days so you may go about your normal activities. The two hosting periods begin the week before Christmas to the day after Christmas and from the day after Christmas to January 2.

CIH is a wonderful opportunity to get to know a student from another culture, with a different religious background and different political views. We learn that in the midst of our diversity, everyone stands together as one human family.

CIH is a Christian ecumenical ministry that offers friendship to international students from around the country. Christmas International House is a peacemaking program that develops understanding among the students and among ourselves and cultivates lasting relationships.
