Welcome Reception

The annual Welcome Reception brings together the Arts, Civic, and Church communities to welcome some of the 14,000 international students and scholars from 160 countries who are studying in metro-Atlanta colleges and universities, saying welcome to our city, our state, our country.

This year, the Welcome Reception will be held on Saturday, September 8, at Georgia Institute of Technology’s Student Services Center Ballroom from 2-4 PM. This event is free and open to the public, in honor of the Atlanta-area international students and scholars. We will have sign up opportunities for upcoming events for the Georgia National Fair, Braves game, and the Ebenezer/MLKing, Jr. tour.  The Trey Clegg Singers, Atlanta’s premier multicultural chorus will be performing and free food will be offered by Carrabba’s of Kennesaw.  For more information about the chorus.

Don’t miss out on the fun of meeting new friends and rekindling friendships on Saturday, September 8 from 2-4 PM.

Kiwanis Clubs from across the state of Georgia join AMIS volunteers in organizing this event and welcoming the international students and scholars to our community. Circle K Clubs from Georgia’s colleges and universities and Key Clubs from Georgia’s high schools work with the Kiwanians and AMIS volunteers in a variety of roles. If your Kiwanis Club, Circle K Club, or Key Club is not currently involved, please contact the AMIS office and be a part of a very special day!
